Job Description

Downtown law firm seeks a real estate paralegal. The preferred candidate will have experience with commercial real estate sales and leases, be a self-starter, be team-oriented, and possess a positive attitude. Paralegal certification is a plus.

The Real Estate Paralegal will be responsible for gathering, preparing, and summarizing relevant materials for use by attorneys. This position will maintain new and existing client case files, perform legal research, and index and track documents. In addition, this position will be responsible for reviewing and drafting agreements, and facilitating real estate transactions. Other duties may be assigned.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review agreements with attorney supervision.
  • Assist attorneys in preparation for client meetings and closings.
  • Preparation of deed, leases, options, closing checklists, purchase offers, and other real estate documents. Assure compliance for recording in various counties. Analyze and report on title documents.
  • Assist and maintain corporate real property records.
  • Provide administrative support for attorneys.
  • Conduct legal research and drafting.
  • Successfully complete special projects and other assignments as requested.
  • Preparing and filing documents with applicable authorities.
  • Organizing and archiving documents related to completed and ongoing matters.

Skills or Experience

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Ability to interact with people at all levels of the corporate structure
  • Prioritize and manage competing demands in a high-volume, fast-paced working environment. Excellent at multitasking.
  • A proven ability to work effectively in an independent setting.
  • Communicates effectively with various contacts, including outside attorneys, senior management, and business associates.
  • Anticipate support needs of attorneys.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Identify and resolve or escalate issues promptly.
