Matt is a Shareholder and Chair of the firm’s Labor and Employment Department, with over 35 years of experience advising and representing public and private employers. He handles matters under the FMLA, Title VII and state anti-discrimination laws, ADEA, ADA, FLSA, NLRA, and workers’ compensation retaliation, in courts, before arbitrators, and with administrative agencies.

He provides day-to-day counseling on compliance, drafts and updates employee handbooks, trains supervisors on employment laws, and has extensive experience in collective bargaining and civil service matters across a variety of industries.

Jeff is a Shareholder in the firm’s Business, Tax and Real Estate Department, focusing on federal and state taxation, business and securities law, and employee benefits. He advises new and established business owners on regulatory and tax matters involving agencies such as the IRS, the Ohio Department of Taxation, and the Department of Labor.

Jeff assists clients with tax-efficient business acquisitions and sales, including tax-free reorganizations and other strategies to reduce or defer taxes, and helps business owners raise capital through private placement securities offerings. He also works with employers to design compensation programs, including stock options and deferred compensation arrangements, and advises business owners on succession planning, including management buyouts and generational transfers.
