David joined the firm in 2000 and is a shareholder and chair of the firm’s Real Estate and Business Department. He represents a broad client base of public and private sector entities including regional and national businesses and Fortune 500 companies. He has extensive experience working with townships, municipalities, and other governmental agencies throughout southwest Ohio, as well as developers, architects, civil engineers, and other professionals associated with land development/redevelopment and real estate-related matters.

In the area of real estate development, David is typically involved in all facets of a project, from initial zoning review, contract preparation, financing, etc., through final governmental approvals for rezoning, site plan, variances, subdivision, and permitting. Additionally, he assists with drafting declarations, covenants, and easements; creating homeowner and condominium associations; and handling construction-related issues. David also works with Buyers, Sellers, Landlords, and Tenants on transactional and leasing matters.

In other real estate and non-real estate matters, David handles document drafting and review, contract drafting and negotiations, assists with due diligence, sets up appropriate business entities, and public and private financing, advises on lien rights and resolution of lien disputes, and other legal matters that may arise. He also provides a full range of additional services for business owners, including business formation, business transactions, business succession, and estate planning. David frequently speaks at seminars about business, land use, zoning, and municipal law.
